Paulino “Paul” Villarreal Jr., is the oldest of 3 children born in Chicago to Paulino Sr. & Judyann Villarreal. Raised in Pilsen in the 1970’s & 1980’s during the times of gang violence, Paul’s parents emphasized education and community involvement. Paul attended Frank J. Jirka elementary school, as well as Holy Trinity Grammar school and later attended Benito Juárez High School where he was active in the student council as well as student leadership clubs.
After graduation, Paul attended Malcolm X College, as well as Harold Washington City College and later Robert Morris University where he majored in Business Management.
Paul met his lovely wife, Olimpia, and after a whirlwind romance, married her after 8 months of dating. They have 3 children: Carlos Alberto, who is 20 years old and is currently serving our country as a United States Marine on active duty; 17 year old Mireya who will be a Senior this coming August at Kennedy High School in Garfield Ridge; and, little Paulino III who is 3 years old and attends daycare in the community.
Paul is the Licensee in Charge of VSI INC., a licensed private security company, as well as the Licensee in Charge of Villarreal and Associates Detective Agency Inc., both located in the Garfield Ridge community.
Paul and his wife, Olimpia, also own the Cup of Joe coffee shop on the corners of Archer Avenue and Oak Park.
With his three businesses, Paul employs more than 25 employees, many from the 23rd Ward. Paul also finds time to be on the board of the Cook County Crime Stoppers, as well as the Knights of Columbus Police Council 12173. Paul and his family are big supporters of the Chicago Police and Fire Departments and of all first responders.
